Self Esteem – Is That a Real Issue Which Needs to be Addressed?

Self-esteem is a much studied & discussed phenomenon in psychology.  Does it have any correlation to the many issues in families centered around men like infidelity, domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, overwork, child abuse, abandonment and neglect, as well as the option to get out of marriage for men?

Objective: 

1. To assist with the proper ordering and placement of the man’s self-esteem within the context of the Family.
2. To properly identify and define self-esteem (etymology) and bring the man face to face with the intricacies of his self-esteem!
3. To make the connection between the man’s self-esteem and his ability or lack thereof to function as husband, father and in all his other roles within the family.

• What are the implications for the family when the male self-esteem is damaged or dysfunctional and has gone rogue? 
• What is good or bad, right or wrong about the male self-esteem? 
• What are the connections and implications of overlooking the importance of a healthy male self-esteem in helping men to play their rightful role in the home and families?
• What or where is the best place from which the self-esteem of the man should be built? 
• Does self-esteem make a difference in the man living out his God-given purpose in the earth?
• How can a healthy self-esteem help the man function better in the family?
